Allison Brashear, MD, MBA

Dr. Allison Brashear serves as Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. She also leads the UBMD Physicians’ Group as president and CEO. Previously, Dr. Brashear was Dean of the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, as well as a Chair of Neurology at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where she held the Walter C. Teagle Endowed Chair.
Dr. Brashear was elected to the National Academy of Medicine in 2025. She serves as Chair-Elect of the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Deans Administrative Board and previously served as Chair of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and on the boards of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association.
Dr. Brashear earned her medical degree and completed her neurology residency at Indiana University School of Medicine. She earned her MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Dr. Brashear has served as a Trustee of the McKnight Brain Research Foundation since 2020.
