Values Statement

The McKnight Brain Research Foundation conducts its affairs with the highest degree of honesty, integrity, and accountability and expects the same of others

We are committed to our vision of understanding and alleviating age-related memory loss, and we expect the same of our grant recipients and research partners

We value scientific curiosity and discovery leading to clinical intervention in age-related memory loss

Acting honestly, truthfully and with integrity in all transactions and dealings
Promoting the avoidance of conflicts of interest and commitment to the appropriate handling of actual or apparent conflicts of interest in all relationships
Treating all grantees fairly and treating every individual with dignity and respect
Being a good corporate citizen and complying with both the spirit and the letter of the law
Acting responsibly toward the professional communities we work with and for the benefit of the professional communities we serve
Being responsible, transparent, and accountable for all of our actions
Endeavoring to make policy decisions only after full discussion

Rendering all decisions based on the available facts and independent judgment, and refusing to surrender that judgment
Staying informed about pertinent issues by individual study and through participation in programs providing needed information relevant to the MBRF
Taking no private action that will compromise the Foundation, and respecting the confidentiality of information that is privileged under applicable law
Monitoring and evaluating on a regular basis the MBRF actions and activities
Ensuring that the resources of the Foundation are responsibly and prudently managed
Adopting and monitoring spending practices and investment policies which are fair, reasonable and appropriate to fulfill the mission of the Foundation
