John Brady, MD

Dr. John Brady is a family medicine doctor in Newport News, Virginia and Director of the Riverside-Virginia Commonwealth Family Medicine Residency Program. In his previous position with Ideal Medical Practices Group, Dr. Brady helped many practices across the nation achieve their vision for high quality care.
Dr. Brady served in the United States Air Force at Langley Air Force Base for four years before opening a solo family medicine practice, The Village Doctor, where he practiced patient-centric medicine for 20 years. Dr. Brady was named the VAFP Family Physician of the year in 2008, served as Chair of the American Board of Family Medicine and was recently appointed to the Society for the Teachers of Family Medicine Professionalism Task Force where he is helping develop a national professionalism curriculum for residents and students. He is also an active member on the Virginia Primary Care Task Force.
Dr. Brady received his medical degree from Medical University of the University of South Carolina College of Medicine. He has served as a Trustee of the McKnight Brain Research Foundation since 2022.
