Dr. Patricia Boyle is a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences and a neuropsychologist at the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Boyle’s research focuses on preventing cognitive and functional decline in old age, with studies examining age-related changes in cognition, financial and health decision making, and psychological well-being. Her research offers a unique emphasis on healthy cognitive aging and resilience factors that protect against age-related decline.

Dr. Boyle’s research has been continuously funded by the National Institute on Aging for more than two decades and she has published extensively, with more than 300 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Boyle directed Research Education at the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center for a decade and serves on several national advisory committees on aging and Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Boyle received her PhD from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She has served as a Trustee of the McKnight Brain Research Foundation since 2020.
